- Account Information: When you register as a celebrant or contributor, we collect your name, email address, password hash, and optional profile portrait.
- Celebrant & Birthday Details: Celebrant full name, birthday date, age, birth year, personalized URL slug, and custom prompts or questions created for your edition.
- Contributed Memories & Media: Photos, heartfelt letters, relationship labels (e.g., Best Friend, Sister), milestone timeline moments, voice notes, and answers submitted by your contributors.
- Technical & Usage Data: Browser type, IP address, device specifications, operating system, and log files collected automatically to safeguard system integrity and prevent abuse.
3. The Secret Birthday Vault & Reveal Mechanism
One of Celly’s core features is the secret contribution vault. When friends and loved ones contribute to an upcoming birthday, their letters, photos, and ratings are sealed and kept confidential until the celebrant unlocks or reaches their birthday date. We do not expose contributor messages or photos prematurely to the celebrant.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect strictly to:
- Generate and render your personalized, interactive editorial birthday magazine edition.
- Send notification dispatches (e.g., reminding contributors, notifying celebrants when an edition is ready).
- Power our AI editorial engine to curate aesthetic covers, summary themes, and layout flow based on contributed memories.
- Maintain authentication security, prevent fraudulent activity, and ensure compliance with our Terms of Service.
5. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal memories or data to third-party advertisers. We only share information in the following limited situations:
- Within Your Edition: Contributed messages and photos are shared directly with the celebrant and anyone with whom the celebrant shares their magazine link.
- Essential Infrastructure Providers: Trusted cloud hosting, media storage (e.g., AWS S3 / Supabase Storage), transactional email services, and database providers operating under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process to protect safety and fundamental legal rights.
6. Data Security & Storage
We implement industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS in transit and AES-256 at rest) to safeguard your photos and personal stories. While no digital platform can guarantee 100% invulnerability, we continually review and improve our security architecture to keep your celebrations private.
7. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You retain full ownership of your data. You may at any time request to review, update, or permanently delete your account, birthday edition, or individual contributed memories by contacting us at support@madewithcelly.com. Once deleted, your personal photos and messages will be permanently removed from our active databases.
